Survey development, programming, & distribution

Our center’s team constructs surveys and oversees the entire survey development process. All surveys are scientifically backed by valid measures and go through rigorous review by our various research team members (PIs, faculty, post-docs, graduate students) in order to maintain high scientific validity. Our team also helps with survey translation and back-translation, programming surveys in multiple languages, and designing optimal data collection strategies for different demographic groups.

Cohort recruitment, maintenance, & retention

The cohorts that our center recruits for our studies are large-scale and diverse. Our center’s priority is recruiting a robust cohort whose data will be representative of the region (we work primarily in Southern California). Our previous cohort studies have published papers in high-impact journals such as JAMA.

Study materials

Our team creates all study materials in-house. We create one-page study descriptions to distribute to schools, consent and assent forms for parents/guardians and students, various scripts for and all necessary documents needed for data collection events. All materials are IRB approved.

Grant & budget support

Our center’s team works directly with PIs to prepare methods, budgets, and budget justifications. Throughout the grant cycle, our center provides continuous support and prepares progress reports as required by stakeholders and funding agencies.

Other services

The USC Center for Population Health is also equipped to support additional study needs such as website development, data management, IRB compliance, etc.
