Perceived Negative Context of Reception

The Perceived Negative Context of Reception scale (Schwartz et al., 2014) is a 6-item scale designed to measure one’s perception of the opportunity structure, degree of openness versus hostility, and acceptance in the local community. In the parent version, items referred to work, whereas in the adolescent version these items were rephrased to refer to school. A five-point Likert scale is used, with responses ranging from 1 (Strongly Disagree) to 5 (Strongly Agree). This scale is available in both English and Spanish translations.
